Shades of MAPS – Yellow
In an era dominated by synthetic dyes, the allure of natural dyeing persists. Our Spring/Summer Collection ‘MAPS’ adorns four vibrant colors – red, yellow, green and indigo, which are all obtained using naturally available coloring agents. Among the four, our yellow dye was procured from turmeric using the vibrant yellow pigment present in the turmeric root to color fabrics.
Using turmeric to dye fabrics has been practiced for centuries, dating back over 2,000 years. This natural dyeing technique utilizes the yellow pigment found in turmeric roots to impart a golden yellow hue to textiles.
The specific shade can vary depending on the type of fabric, preparation method, and environmental conditions. However, the appeal of natural dyes like turmeric lies in the one-of-a-kind, organic colors they produce.
This natural variability infuses each creation with a touch of unpredictability, making every piece truly one-of-a-kind.
With every thread, turmeric dyeing weaves a vibrant tapestry that bridges the past with the present, connecting us to a world where color is a reflection of nature’s artistry.
